La copertura vaccinale è bassa in Congo (< 95%), e l’analisi dei rapporti di vaccinazione di Nkayi mostra una bassa copertura di Penta 1 (64,34%), Penta 3 (54,65%) e RR1 (54,49%), con un tasso di abbandono > 10%, classificato come categoria 4. L’obiettivo era studiare i fattori associati alla bassa copertura vaccinale dei bambini di età compresa tra 0 e 18 mesi nel distretto sanitario di Nkayi nel 2023. Abbiamo condotto uno studio analitico trasversale sui bambini di età compresa tra 0 e 18 mesi che frequentano i servizi di vaccinazione a Nkayi. È stato condotto dal 25 settembre al 24 ottobre 2023 e sono state riportate informazioni sul profilo socio-demografico, sulla conoscenza delle vaccinazioni, sullo stato vaccinale dei bambini e sui motivi della mancata vaccinazione. Un totale di 469 madri ha partecipato allo studio. Sono state calcolate frequenze e proporzioni per le variabili qualitative e quantitative. L’età media delle madri era di 26 anni, il 67,4% delle donne viveva con un partner e il 56,5% aveva un’istruzione secondaria; il 96,6% delle madri aveva una buona conoscenza delle vaccinazioni e il 35% dei bambini non era vaccinato o lo era in modo insufficiente.
