Sono stati sintetizzati complessi di metalli di transizione contenenti cumarina e 1,10-fenantrolina. I ligandi bidentati neutri e tutti i complessi di metalli di transizione sono stati studiati sulla base di spettri di massa, spettri NMR, spettri FT-IR e analisi elementari. I dati spettrali di massa confermano la struttura dei ligandi, come indicato dal picco ionico molecolare (M+) corrispondente al loro peso molecolare. I dati spettrali IR suggeriscono il legame del ligando con lo ione metallico. Inoltre, i complessi sono stati studiati mediante termogravimetria, spettri elettronici e misurazioni magnetiche. Lo studio TGA indica una geometria ottaedrica dei complessi. Lo screening antimicobatterico del ligando e del suo composto di rame contro il Mycobacterium tuberculosis mostra un chiaro miglioramento dell’attività antitubercolare in seguito alla complessazione del metallo. Sono state riscontrate anche buone attività antimicrobiche dei complessi contro i ceppi utilizzati rispetto ai ligandi liberi.
