Cette recherche vise à analyser le potentiel de la connexion entre la modélisation mathématique et le constructivisme et sa contribution en tant que méthodologie dans les pratiques pédagogiques en classe dans le processus d’enseignement et d’apprentissage dans l’enseignement secondaire général (1er cycle) à l’école secondaire de Matola. Cette étude est née de la prise de conscience que les pratiques pédagogiques en place dans la majorité des écoles ne répondent pas aux exigences sociales actuelles, les élèves se limitant à recevoir les connaissances transmises par l’enseignant sans les critiquer, ce qui compromet la qualité de l’enseignement et leurs compétences. Dans ce contexte, l’utilisation de la modélisation mathématique combinée à l’approche constructiviste contribue à une pratique d’enseignement efficace, rendant les étudiants actifs, réfléchis, participatifs et capables de produire leurs propres connaissances.
