Niedokrwistość jest jedną z chorób występujących u kobiet w ciąży. Światowa Organizacja Zdrowia (WHO) ujawniła, że większość z 61,3% anemicznych ciężarnych kobiet występuje w Afryce. Celem tego badania było zatem zidentyfikowanie czynników żywieniowych i chorobowych związanych z niedokrwistością wśród kobiet ciężarnych uczęszczających do szpitala w Kabgayi. W badaniu zastosowano przekrojowy projekt badawczy. Populacja docelowa liczyła 936 kobiet w ciąży, z czego wielkość próby 272 kobiet została uzyskana przy użyciu wzoru Fishera i in., 2014. Wyniki badań ujawniły, że częstość występowania anemii wśród kobiet w ciąży wynosiła 29,4% obserwowana w szpitalu Kabgayi w okresie badania. Wyniki wykazały również, że prawie połowa z nich miała umiarkowaną anemię 46,25%. Wyniki z analizy wielowariantowej wykazały, że bycie singlem, bycie w ubudehe kategorii 1 i 2, nie jeść ciemnozielone były czynniki związane z niedokrwistością wśród kobiet w ciąży szukać w szpitalu Kabgayi w okresie badania.
