This part of Ben's story begins soon after his marriage to the love of his life Sarah Humphery. It is about the joy and trials that take place as they start a new type of ministry and welcome their first child as part of the family.Being a pastor is new to Ben, preaching to the same people week after week is much different than being an evangelist. The Bishop soon calls him to the small church at Rocky Hill and then to act as Chaplain at the Wethersfield State Prison. Ben felt at that time and for many years after word that his years there were the best work of his entire ministry to man and God. Even greater than the Mission church he established in Yonkers, New York. After many good years as Chaplain, his Bishop sent him to pastor the church at Vernon, because of the change of Wardens at the prison, and the deleting of many of the good programs Ben had set in place. The greater part of their life at Vernon will be continued in book four of this saga of the life of Rev. Ben Phelps and family.
