Portulak (Portulaca oleracea) kommt sowohl in Rasenflächen als auch in Feldkulturen vor. Trockenstress wird als einer der leistungsbegrenzenden Faktoren und als Bedrohung für eine erfolgreiche Pflanzenproduktion angesehen. Im Hinblick auf die Bedeutung des Portulak als Heil- und Wertpflanze und wegen der geringen Informationen über seine physiologischen und chemischen Reaktionen unter Wasserstress ist dieses Projekt notwendig. Unter Feldkapazitätsbedingungen wies Portulak die längste Internodienlänge (76 mm), den höchsten relativen Wassergehalt der Blätter (79,85 %), den höchsten Gesamtphenolgehalt (3,06 mg GAE/g) und den höchsten Aschegehalt (17,5 %) auf. Bei kontinuierlicher Sättigung wuchs Portulak mit der höchsten Pflanzenhöhe (429,0 mm). Bei kontinuierlicher Überflutung wies Portulak den höchsten Gesamtgehalt an Flavonoiden (1,35 mg QE/g), Stickstoff (3,14%) und Rohprotein (19,62%) auf. Sie kann als wassersparende Technologie für die Portulakproduktion in wasserarmen Gebieten empfohlen werden. Der Gehalt an Antioxidantien und der Nährwert von Portulak sind für den menschlichen Verzehr von Bedeutung. Das Buch ist für Doktoranden, Dozenten und Forscher nützlich.
