Um die Auswirkungen der Bewässerung mit kommunalem und industriellem Abwasser auf die Keimung und den Wachstumsbeginn der Samen von Trigonella foenum-graecum und Triticum secale zu bewerten, werden Keimungstests bei 25 °C für 7 Tage im Dunkeln durchgeführt. Die Samen werden mit Brunnenwasser, rohem und aufbereitetem kommunalem Abwasser sowie rohem und aufbereitetem Industrieabwasser bewässert. Die Kontrollboxen werden mit destilliertem Wasser bewässert. Trigonella foenum-greacum und Triticum secale haben bewiesen, dass sie in der Lage sind, hohe Werte ihrer Keimungsrate und der untersuchten Parameter für den Wachstumsbeginn unter den Bedingungen der Bewässerung mit Abwasser zu halten. Somit könnte behandeltes Abwasser als potenzielles Bewässerungswasser für diese beiden Arten in Betracht gezogen werden.
