Ein Mann in einem Zug, an einem Fenster, kurz vor der Abfahrt von einem Bahnhof. Verloren. Da sieht er auf dem Bahnsteig eine Frau. Und sie sieht ihn. Und sie erkennen sich. Doch schon setzt der Zug sich in Bewegung. Was tun? Kurzentschlossen nimmt der Mann sein Smartphone und wirft es der Frau zu. Sie fängt es auf. Und dann? Ja, und was dann? Ein Mann, arbeitslos im Ruhrgebiet. Gefangen in einem Gestrüpp aus Bewerbungen, Vorstellungsgesprächen, Arbeitsagentur-Terminen und wachsender Selbstentfremdung. Im Teufelskreis sich leerlaufender Hoffnungen. Was tun? Sich im Hamsterrad totlaufen lassen oder... oder... oder WAS? Was ist die Alternative? Gibt es überhaupt eine? Eine junge Frau aus Berlin auf Lesetour in der Metropole Ruhr. Ein Mann weckt ihr Interesse. Doch er weist sie ab. Ein Buch später ist sie wieder auf Tour an der Ruhr. Und wieder ist da dieser Mann. Und wieder kann sie nicht widerstehen. Doch wieder die Abweisung. Wird sie sich diese dieses Mal aber gefallen lassen? All diesen Fragen geht David Jordan in seinen drei zwischen September 2014 und Februar 2015 zu Papier gebrachten Erzählungen nach, die der vorliegende Band unter dem Titel „andernorts anderswo. CafeHaus-Geschichten' in sich vereinigt. Ein zentraler Schauplatz aller Geschichten ist dabei, wie schon im Untertitel deutlich wird, das CafeHaus in Herne. Das CafeHaus in Herne - eine Institution, die leider nicht mehr existiert. Ein unwiederbringlicher Verlust wie so Vieles, das nie hätte verloren gehen dürfen, aber plötzlich, von heute auf morgen, nicht mehr da ist - sei es in Herne, andernorts oder anderswo.
