Absoluter Alkohol mit einer Konzentration von 99,8 Volumenprozent wird in Ländern ohne Erdölvorkommen als Kraftstoff verwendet, und zwar in einer 20-30%igen Mischung mit Benzin, wodurch auch die Oktanzahl erhöht wird.
