O presente estudo aborda a questão da escrita diáspora entre os escritores que têm sido chamados 'novos autores' pelos críticos, especificamente o escritor nascido na Nigéria Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Ela mostra que Adichie, através da sua escrita híbrida e subversiva, afasta-se dos códigos literários já estabelecidos no campo literário. Para o conseguir, o autor utiliza estratégias discursivas que questionam o simbolismo, o implícito e a despossessão. Estas diferentes modalidades ocupam um lugar significativo na composição das obras estudadas, levando a uma sensação do carácter subversivo da narrativa, que é o resultado de uma prática escriturística que floresce no campo literário das produções diásporas.
