''A Book of Princeton Verse 1916'' is a collection of poems edited by Alfred Noyes, originally published in 1916. The book features works from various authors who were students or alumni of Princeton University, including F. Scott Fitzgerald and Edmund Wilson. The poems cover a range of themes, from nature and love to war and social commentary. Noyes provides an introduction that contextualizes the collection and discusses the literary traditions at Princeton. This book offers a glimpse into the literary culture of early 20th century Princeton and the voices of its student poets.1916. This book of Princeton verse is selected from poems written during the last six years on the Princeton campus, with the exception of one poem by a Princeton man in France. With the exception of one contributor, moreover, it is chiefly the work of undergraduates, who are still in residence. One or two contributors are students at the Graduate College.
