Subsequently, as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, he was posted to Zagreb, Croatia, then-Yugoslavia. He then worked for the next twenty-five years as an East European business specialist for the Economist Intelligence Unit based in Vienna. Five of his 'thriller' novels, and three nonfiction books, including two cookbooks and his Air Assault Sharing Military Experience, have been published. With his wife and daughter, he apportions his time between homes in the village of McDowell and the town of Staunton, Virginia. 3
