This true story begins with a young girl growing up with her older sister, Stephanie, who was born with Down Syndrome. When Jennifer was young she didn't notice much difference between herself and Stephanie but as she grew older she started to develop feelings that she didn't know how to handle. The story follows Jennifer's emotional and spiritual journey. The beautiful watercolor illustrations by her 'soul sister', Jodi Lee Villanella, help to bring life to the words. Together, they are able to create a gateway into the life of the often silent sibling in this seemingly rare situation. It's the author's hope that the family or sibling of someone with any kind of special need, will be able to come to terms with their feelings. It may not be today, tomorrow or even a year from now but eventually they will be at peace, just as Jennifer is with her family and her sister. 3
